There's no place like home for Roosevelt, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They blew past the Decatur Golden Gators 67-23 on Tuesday. The Roughriders have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matches by 26 points or more this season.
Leading Roosevelt to victory were Ellery Burke-Brown and Emma Curtis. Burke-Brown shot 4-for-6 from deep and dropped a double-double with 16 points and ten rebounds, while Curtis en route to 17 points in addition to six boards and four steals. That's the most points Curtis has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Jasmine Hall, who to rack up 11 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Roosevelt smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 23 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in nine consecutive contests.
Roosevelt's victory bumped their record up to 18-9. As for Decatur, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-14.
Coming up, Roosevelt will square off against River Ridge at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. River Ridge is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.5 points per game this season. Decatur does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
