Soccer Recap: Caprock Academy Comes Up Short

Caprock Academy managed to keep up with Montezuma-Cortez until halftime on Saturday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Eagles lost 5-1 to the Panthers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Caprock Academy of the 2-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

Their goal came courtesy of Edrick Ang, who's now up to two this season.

Caprock Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Montezuma-Cortez, their victory bumped their record up to 2-4-2.

Caprock Academy wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and has already played their next match, a 5-0 defeat against Moffat County on the 23rd. As for Montezuma-Cortez, they will take on Alamosa at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
