Baseball Recap: McNairy Central Find Success

McNairy Central hadn't done well against Lexington recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. McNairy Central walked away with a 5-0 victory over Lexington. This was a revenge game for the Bobcats: when they faced off against the Tigers on Tuesday, they had to take a 4-1 defeat.

Case Stone was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over seven innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2024. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one home run and four RBI. That home run was his first of the season.

Stone wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Cooper Davis, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

McNairy Central hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lexington struck out seven times.

McNairy Central's record now sits at 8-5. As for Lexington, their loss was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 4-8.

Coincidentally, McNairy Central and Lexington will both be playing Trinity Christian Academy the next time they take the field. Lexington will head out to face Trinity Christian Academy at 6:05 p.m. on Thursday, while McNairy Central will host them at 6:20 p.m. on Friday.
