Softball Recap: National Cathedral vs. Flint Hill Huskies        
        
		
            
 After having lost a blowout in their  previous game against Potomac School, National Cathedral was happy to have turned things around  on Tuesday. They walked away with  a   9-4  victory over the Flint Hill Huskies. For National Cathedral, this counts as revenge for the   10-8 defeat Flint Hill walked away with the last time they faced one another  back in May of 2023.
  Ryan Walker made a splash while hitting and pitching. She  struck out seven batters over  seven innings while giving up  three earned  (and one unearned) runs off only  two  hits. Walker was also stellar in the batter's box,  going 2-for-3 with a  home run, two  stolen bases,  and two  runs.
 In other batting news,  Anya Prokop was  incredible,  scoring two  runs and  stealing four bases while going 3-for-4.  Iyanna Edwards was another key contributor,  going 2-for-3 with two  runs, a  triple,  and a  double.
 Like National Cathedral, Flint Hill also got a great game from a two-way player:  Mackenzie Murdock. On the mound, she  didn't allow a single  earned run while striking out nine over 4.2 innings pitched. Murdock has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't  tossed less than eight  strikeouts in six consecutive pitching appearances. Murdock was also big at the plate,  scoring two  runs and  stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
 In other batting news,  Jane Stanley made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and  scored a  run while going 1-for-3.
 Even though they lost, Flint Hill  didn't let batters stay on the plate for long and  finished the game with 11  strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as National Cathedral only tossed seven.
 The  win  got National Cathedral back to even at 4-4. As for Flint Hill, their record is now 6-4.
 National Cathedral will head out on the road to  square off against  Maret at 4:15  p.m.  on Thursday. As for Flint Hill, they will play host again  on Thursday to welcome St. Andrew's Episcopal, where first pitch is scheduled  at 4:15  p.m. Flint Hill is strutting in with some hitting muscle, as they've averaged 8.4  runs per game  this season.
