Basketball Recap: Cactus Starts Season with Defeat at Home

Cactus unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They were outmatched by the Dysart Demons and fell 73-41. The Cobras haven't had much luck with the Demons recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

When it comes to explaining why Cactus lost on Wednesday, don't look at Ayden Lynn. Despite the final result, he shot 40% from the field to rack up 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tristan Randolph, who posted four points and five boards.

Dysart got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Dj Tillman out in front who went 7-for-14 on his way to 15 points and three steals. Another player making a difference was Santiago Leyva, who dropped a double-double with 18 points and 12 rebounds.

Coming up, Cactus will hit the road for the first time this season to take on Notre Dame Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Dysart, they will look to take advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they take on Peoria at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
