Basketball Recap: Pinecrest Prep Victorious

The Pinecrest Prep Crocs sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 57-55 victory over the South Miami Cobras on Tuesday.

Gabriel Guzman was his usual excellent self, putting up 25 points along with six rebounds and five steals. That makes it eight consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Pinecrest Prep's points. Dwayne Toussaint was another key player, dropping a double-double with 14 points and ten boards.

Pinecrest Prep smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in three consecutive games.

The win got Pinecrest Prep back to even at 8-8. As for South Miami, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-12.

Pinecrest Prep didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 79-38 defeat against Palmer Trinity on the 7th. As for South Miami, they have also already played their next matchup, a 70-40 loss against Varela on the 8th.
