Baseball Recap: Apollo Takes a Loss

Apollo came into this matchup off a tough 12-run defeat on Wednesday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Sunrise Mountain Mustangs by a score of 4-2 on Wednesday. If the Hawks were looking for revenge after losing 12-8 to the Mustangs when the teams met back in February of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Elias Munoz was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched six innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits.

At the plate, Apollo saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Isaiah Mendoza, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double.

Apollo's loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Coming up, Apollo will be taking part in a tournament against Mingus at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Sunrise Mountain, they will take on Pinnacle in a tournament on Thursday.
