Basketball Game Preview: Woodland Wolfpack vs. Northside Eagles

The Woodland Wolfpack and the Northside Eagles will face off at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Northside is hoping to do what Spalding couldn't on Friday: put an end to Woodland's winning streak, which now stands at three games. It was close, but Woodland capped 2024 with a 72-69 win over Spalding.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Northside). They were the clear victor by a 65-44 margin over Mt. Zion on Friday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.

Woodland is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 5-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.2 points per game. As for Northside, they pushed their record up to 5-4 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

Woodland couldn't quite finish off Northside in their previous matchup back in December of 2014 and fell 60-57. Can Woodland avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
