Baseball Recap: Wilmington Comes Up Short

After flying high against Prairie Central last Friday, Wilmington came back down to earth. Wilmington fell just short of the Joliet West Tigers by a score of 5-3 on Tuesday. The defeat continues a trend for the Wildcats in their meetings with the Tigers: they've now lost four in a row.

Lucas Rink made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one home run. Declan Moran also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Wilmington's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Joliet West, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.

Looking ahead, Wilmington will face off against Lincoln-Way East at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Joliet West, they will take on McHenry at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
