Softball Recap: Taft Wins Going Away Against Sanger West

Taft was handed a heart-breaking two-run defeat in their last matchup, but they sure didn't let that happen against Sanger West on Saturday. The Taft Wildcats were the clear victor by an 11-5 margin over the Sanger West Hornets. The Wildcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three contests by six runs or more this season.

Rylee Owens was incredible, going 3-for-4 with four RBI and one run. Kylene Nixon was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

Taft's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Sanger West, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1-1.

Coming up, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Taft Wildcats challenge Washington Union Panthers at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Taft's pitching crew has only allowed 2.5 runs per game this season, so Washington Union's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Sanger West, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 6-1 defeat against Highland on the 8th.
