Basketball Game Preview: Pacifica Mariners vs. Esperanza Aztecs

The Pacifica Mariners are taking a road trip to square off against the Esperanza Aztecs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Pacifica will be strutting in after a victory while Esperanza will be coming in after a loss.

Esperanza is hoping to do what El Modena couldn't on Tuesday: put an end to Pacifica's winning streak, which now stands at three games. Pacifica came out on top against El Modena by a score of 42-29.

Esperanza has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They fell 72-59 to San Juan Hills on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Aztecs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 328th, while the Stallions are ranked 147th).

Pacifica's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-7. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.5 points per game. As for Esperanza, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-7.
