Basketball Recap: Standley Lake Now 3-1 over Last Four Games

Standley Lake won the last time they faced Wheat Ridge, and Carson Dowis did his part to make sure it happened again. The Standley Lake Gators came out on top against the Wheat Ridge Farmers by a score of 72-61 on Wednesday thanks in part to Dowis, who went 10 for 13 on his way to 23 points along with seven boards and six assists. Those 23 points gave him a new career-high.

Another player making a difference was Titus Schrecengost, who posted six points and four steals. He has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 11 times he's played.

Standley Lake is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.5 points per game. As for Wheat Ridge, they now have a losing record at 6-7.

Standley Lake is taking a road trip to square off against Green Mountain at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Green Mountain's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three games. As for Wheat Ridge, they will square off against Pomona at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Wheat Ridge knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matchups -- so hopefully Pomona likes a good challenge.
