Mt. Vernon had to kick off their season on the road on Wednesday, but they showed no ill effects. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the South Spencer Rebels a 12-0 shutout. That's more bragging rights for Mt. Vernon, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.
