Softball Recap: Mayfield Takes a Loss

Mayfield was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 11-7 to the Flintridge Prep Wolves. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wolves this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 14-6 back in March.

Jaz Johnson made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with two doubles, one stolen base, and two RBI. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Sarah Salazar, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Mayfield now has a losing record of 7-8-2. As for Flintridge Prep, the win got them back to even at 6-6.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Mayfield is set to face off against their familiar foe Providence at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Flintridge Prep will square off against rival Chadwick at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
