Volleyball Game Preview: Newton-Conover Red Devils vs. Hickory Red Tornadoes

Newton-Conover hasn't had much luck against Hickory recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Red Devils will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against the Red Tornadoes at 6:00 p.m.

On Tuesday, Newton-Conover came up short against East Lincoln and fell 3-1.

While Newton-Conover ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 18 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-23, 22-25, 25-18.

Meanwhile, Hickory got the win against Bunker Hill on Tuesday by a conclusive 3-0. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Red Tornadoes.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Hickory was: they took every set by at least 17 points. The final score came out to 25-8, 25-8, 25-7.

Newton-Conover's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. Hickory has also opened the season with a perfect 2-0 record.
