Softball Recap: Ben Lomond Takes a Loss

Ben Lomond and Judge Memorial Catholic squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Ben Lomond had to settle for second. They lost 34-24 to the Bulldogs. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Tuesday (23), the Scots still had to take the loss.

Payton Huff stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: she went 4-for-6 with four runs, five RBI, and one triple. She has been hot recently, having posted four or more hits the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Elliot Hauser, who went 4-for-6 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Ben Lomond's loss dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Judge Memorial Catholic, the victory snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 5-13 record.

Ben Lomond does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Judge Memorial Catholic, they will head out to face off against Grantsville at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. The Bulldogs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Cowboys have averaged an impressive 9.2 runs per game this season.
