Football Recap: Jordan Drops Season-High Score on Juan Diego Catholic

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Jordan). They snuck past the Juan Diego Catholic Soaring Eagle with a 31-27 victory on Friday.

Dylan Suthar was the offensive standout of the contest as he rushed for 91 yards and three TDs. Those three rushing touchdowns gave him a new career-high.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Jordan was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 260 rushing yards. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their rushing yard total in three consecutive matches.

Despite the loss, Juan Diego Catholic saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Kynoa Jaeger picked up a sack and made 11 total tackles (3.0 for loss).

Jordan's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Juan Diego Catholic, this is the second loss in a row for them and also nudges their season record down to 1-4.

Coming up, Jordan will be playing in front of their home fans against Skyline at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Beetdiggers surely won't give up without a fight. As for Juan Diego Catholic, they will venture away from home to face off against Cottonwood at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Soaring Eagle will be up against the Colts' rather soft defense (which has allowed 56.4 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
