Basketball Game Preview: Bob Jones Patriots vs. Florence Falcons

The Bob Jones Patriots will head out on the road to take on the Florence Falcons at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Bob Jones is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Alabama's top teams: Austin, who was ranked seventh at the time (Bob Jones was ranked 14th). Bob Jones fell 63-50 to Austin on Tuesday. The Patriots have struggled against the Black Bears recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.

Florence has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 59-53 heartbreaker at the hands of James Clemens.

Bob Jones' defeat dropped their record down to 15-9. As for Florence, their loss dropped their record down to 14-7.

Bob Jones didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Florence when the teams last played back in December of 2024, but they still walked away with a 64-59 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Bob Jones since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
