Softball Recap: Math Science & Engineering Has No Trouble Against Laguardia

Math Science & Engineering came out on top against Laguardia on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive 11-run fifth inning. Math Science & Engineering put the hurt on Laguardia with a sharp 15-6 victory. Considering Math Science & Engineering has won seven matches by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Annalie Merkel was a standout: she got on base in all five of her plate appearances with five stolen bases, four runs, and two RBI. Isabella Martinez was another key player, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with five stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.

Math Science & Engineering was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .393 or higher in five consecutive contests.

Math Science & Engineering pushed their record up to 8-2 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.0 runs over those games. As for Laguardia, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-4.

Coincidentally, Math Science & Engineering and Laguardia will both be playing Art & Design the next time they take the field. Math Science & Engineering will host Art & Design at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, while Laguardia will head out to face them at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
