Taggart Brown and Austin Swann provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Perry. The connection went for 94 yards, the longest such play in 2A District 1 this season.

Pawnee lost to Hennessey 48-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.

Brown threw for 341 yards and 3 touchdowns. He went 13-19 with 1 interception.

Swann made the biggest impact on defense this week as Chisholm beat the Maroons. The 6-foot-1 junior pulled down 1 interception.

Swann was the best receiver in the league this week as the Longhorns bested Perry. Swann racked up 5 receptions for 113 yards. Danner Kiernan helped Chisholm's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 66 yards.

Thanks to the talents of Brown and Bryce Stewart, Chisholm has been able to do all sorts of things on offense. Brown is tops in the league in passing with 822 yards, while Stewart has rushed for 904 yards this season. Tops in the league in receiving yards is the Eagles' Edgar Fierro, with 307 yards on 25 catches.

Stewart of the Joey Reinart's team is just 96 yards short of surpassing 1,000 rushing yards for the season. Stewart has rushed for 904 yards on 174 carries so far this year.

A big matchup in the league this week will be when Newkirk takes on Hennessey. The Tigers are in fifth place, while Rick Luetjen's team is in first place.

The Longhorns made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 3,301 from 3,690. The improvement was the result of a 40-12 victory over Cameron Bennett's team last week.
