Softball Game Preview: Spring Valley Cardinals vs. Pepin/Alma

Spring Valley hasn't had much luck against Pepin/Alma recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Cardinals will venture away from home to take on Pepin/Alma at 5:00 p.m. Spring Valley has given up an average of 15.5 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Spring Valley is headed into Tuesday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their tenth straight game dating back to last season on Monday. They lost 12-0 to Glenwood City.

Spring Valley saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Reese Vivoda, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double.

Meanwhile, Pepin/Alma entered their tilt with Alma Center Lincoln on Friday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They were the clear victors by a 15-1 margin over the Hornets. The result was nothing new for Pepin/Alma, who have now won three games by six runs or more so far this season.

Spring Valley's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Pepin/Alma, their victory bumped their record up to 3-1.

Spring Valley might still be hurting after the 10-0 defeat they got from Pepin/Alma when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Can the Cardinals avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
