Baseball Recap: Franklin Snaps 13-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Franklin dropped their record down to 18-6 on Friday, which also ended the team's 13-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season. They wound up with the same score they had in their last game (3-2), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time. They were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Eagles earlier this season, when they won 3-2.

Dylan Minnatee and Nolan Manaois did some serious damage despite the final result: Minnatee went 2-for-4 with one triple and one run, while Manaois went 2-for-3 with one triple and one run.

As for Pleasant Grove, the victory snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 13-11 record. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win they have posted since April 24, 2024.

On Pleasant Grove's side, they got a great performance from Justin Dougan as he pitched 6.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off nine hits. What's more, Dougan posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March.

At the plate, Pleasant Grove saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Liam Bantau, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double.

Franklin didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 5-3 loss against Rocklin on the 26th. As for Pleasant Grove, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 2-1 victory against Laguna Creek on the 28th.
