Softball Recap: Whiteoak Wildcats vs. East Clinton Astros
Whiteoak had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the East Clinton Astros a 3-0 shutout on Tuesday. The win was just what Whiteoak needed coming off of a 9-3 loss in their prior game.
Bri Hill made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out 15 over seven innings pitched. Hill was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in two of her three plate appearances.
Hill wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Elly McMullen, who went 1-for-3 with a double and an RBI.
The victory got Whiteoak back to even at 3-3. As for East Clinton, their defeat was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-6.
Whiteoak is on the road again on Thursday to play Fairfield at 5:00 p.m. As for East Clinton, they will face off against Felicity-Franklin at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
