Softball Recap: Shafter Generals vs. Porterville Panthers

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Shafter walked away with it. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over the Porterville Panthers on Friday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Generals.

Kamryn Munoz spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on two hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Shafter's victory was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Neveah Enriquez, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Shafter's win bumped their record up to 17-11. As for Porterville, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-14-1.

As of now, neither Shafter nor the Panthers have any future games scheduled.
