Volleyball Recap: Fond Du Lac Comes Up Short in High-Profile Matchup with Oconomowoc

Fond du Lac faced Oconomowoc in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Cardinals took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Raccoons. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Cardinals of the 3-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2019.

Ellie Shultis paced Fond du Lac's offense, picking up 11 kills. Shultis got some help from MacKenna Shultis and her eight assists. MacKenna was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Fond du Lac has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-8 record this season. As for Oconomowoc, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 24-1.
