CAVE CREEK, Ariz. - After taking the lead in the fourth quarter,
Cactus Shadows (Cave Creek, Ariz.) held on for a 25-21 victory over
Arcadia (Phoenix, Ariz.) on Saturday. The difference for the Falcons was that
Antonio Marchica ran for a touchdown.
The Falcons led 10-7 at halftime, but the Titans recaptured the lead on a punt return touchdown with 10:00 to go in the third. Cactus Shadows finally took the lead for the win when Marchica ran for a touchdown with 2:00 to go in the fourth quarter.
By the end of the third, CS found itself trailing by 11 points as Arcadia captured the lead thanks to two scores in the quarter. AHS scored on a punt return touchdown and a touchdown run by
Semisi Pulu in the quarter.
The defeat comes as a step back for Arcadia, which notched a 47-12 victory over Independence in its previous outing. The victory was a step in the right direction for the Cave Creek school, which was coming off a 54-6 defeat at the hands of Chaparral in its previous game.
