Soccer Recap: Alhambra Comes Up Short

Alhambra fell victim to Washington and their airtight defense on Thursday. They lost 5-0 to the Washington Rams. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona soccer rankings (they are ranked 84th, while the Rams are ranked sixth).

Alhambra now has a losing record at 3-4. As for Washington, the victory (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 13-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Alhambra will host Fairfax at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Fairfax is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3.6 goals per game this season. As for Washington, they will look to defend their home pitch on Wednesday against Glendale at 6:00 p.m. Washington also hasn't been messing around on offense: they've averaged 4.1 goals per game.
