The Elevation Prep Academy Honey Badgers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fifth straight defeat. They fell 69-59 to New Life Christian Academy. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Elevation Prep Academy in their matchups with New Life Christian Academy: they've now lost four in a row.
Elevation Prep Academy lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being HARVEY BEDELL, who scored 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of JAYLEN THOMAS, who scored 13 points.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead New Life Christian Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than D'Marion Tomlinson, who scored 15 points along with four steals. Another player making a difference was Kaleb James, who scored 12 points along with six assists and five rebounds.
Elevation Prep Academy's defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 7-14. As for New Life Christian Academy, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 17-13.
Elevation Prep Academy will be playing at home against Charlotte Elite Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Elevation Prep Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 364th, while Charlotte Elite Academy is ranked 135th). As for New Life Christian Academy, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on Falcon Christian Academy at 6:30 p.m. on February 12th. Hopefully New Life Christian Academy is not getting complacent considering they own a much higher rank in North Carolina (they are ranked 164th, while Falcon Christian Academy is ranked 334th).
