Volleyball Recap: Cross Lanes Christian Comes Up Short

Cross Lanes Christian was the 3-0 winner over Calvary Baptist Academy when they last played one another back in October of 2019, but their luck changed this time around. The Warriors lost 3-0 to the Patriots on Thursday. The Warriors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-7, 25-5, 25-13.

Leading Calvary Baptist Academy to victory were Ellie Russo and Bella Deel. Russo had five aces and two assists, while Deel had 11 aces and three digs. Those five aces gave Russo a new career-high.

Cross Lanes Christian's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Calvary Baptist Academy, their win bumped their record up to 6-2.

Coming up, Calvary Baptist Academy will square off against Parkersburg Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Cross Lanes Christian will be paying especially close attention to the Patriots' match: after the Patriots face off against Elk Valley Christian, they'll take on Cross Lanes Christian again at 6:00 p.m. on the 18th.
