Basketball Recap: Neuse Charter Finds Playoff Glory Versus East Columbus

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Neuse Charter had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They managed a 56-51 win over the East Columbus Gators.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Neuse Charter to victory, but perhaps none more so than Yedidia Tsolenyanu, who dropped a double-double with 14 points and 11 boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Lily Temple, who dropped a double-double with 20 points and 11 rebounds.

Despite the loss, East Columbus still got an impressive performance from Malia Graham, who dropped a double-double with 24 points and 19 boards. Graham's big performance that evening made it six games in a row in which she has scored at least 16 points. Another player making a difference was Malayah Hines, who dropped a double-double with 14 points and ten rebounds.

Neuse Charter is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.9 points over those games. With the loss, East Columbus broke their six-game winning streak and moved their record to 15-5.

Coming up, a feisty cat fight will be fought as the Cougars face off against the Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Wilson Prep will roll in looking for their 19th straight victory, something Neuse Charter surely won't give up without a fight. East Columbus does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
