Football Recap: Mountain View Comes Up Short

Mountain View extended their losing streak to five on Friday, dropping them down to 1-5. They took a 28-20 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Clint Lions. The Lobos were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lions apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Gerardo Gandara threw for 201 yards on 16 of 31 attempts. Andrew Palma was his top target, picking up 81 receiving yards. On the ground, Esteban Garcia rushed for 77 yards on only eight carries.

As for Clint, the victory got them back to even at 3-3. The win was nothing new for the Lions as they're now sitting on three straight.

Isaac Rocha was nothing short of spectacular: he rushed for 102 yards and a pair of scores on only ten carries. Those 102 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. Brandon Quezada also helped out as he racked up 128 rushing yards.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Mountain View will take on rival Irvin at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Clint is set to square off against their familiar foe Austin at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 907 yards in their previous games.
