The MaxPreps Regional Baseball Rankings had two new No. 1 teams last week on opposite sides of the country.

The Northeast still has many states in the process of completing postseason play. Previous No. 1 Hollidaysburg (Pa.)  lost only its second game of the season and dropped to No. 10 in that region while St. John's (Shrewsbury, Mass.) moved up to the No. 1 spot.

Meanwhile in the West, Huntington Beach lost in the Southern Section quarterfinals and that allowed Eastlake of the San Diego Section to move up to No. 1.

The other No.1 teams remained the same as Helena is the top team in the South and Jefferson City is the No. 1 team in the Midwest and Wakeland is on top in the Southwest.

The regional rankings are based on the MaxPreps National Baseball Computer Rankings. The team's record and computer rating are noted in the rankings. Numbers are current as of Tuesday.

The 50 states are divided into five regions as follows:

West: Hawaii, California, Nevada, Utah, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Alaska, Colorado.

Southwest: Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Arizona.

South: Louisiana, Mississippi, Arkansas, Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Florida, Tennessee, Kentucky, Maryland, Virginia.

Midwest: North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota, Michigan, Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Missouri, Nebraska, Kansas.

Northeast: Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, New York, New Jersey, Delaware, Pennsylvania, West Virginia.

States not included: Montana and Wyoming (do not have baseball), Iowa (season is during the summer).
