Volleyball Game Preview: Artesia Bulldogs vs. Ruidoso Warriors

Artesia has gone a perfect 6-0 against Ruidoso recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Bulldogs will challenge the Warriors at 6:00 p.m. Artesia is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last seven games.

In Tuesday's Canine Competition, Artesia prevailed. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over Roswell on Tuesday.

Artesia was especially dominant in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 25-17, 25-17.

Artesia's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Brooklynne Ivans, who had 16 digs. Those 16 digs gave Ivans a new career-high. Ashton Craft also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Artesia was lethal from the service line and finished the match with ten aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least nine aces in three consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Ruidoso suffered their biggest loss since November 15, 2024 on Friday. They came up short against Silver, falling 3-0. The defeat continues a trend for the Warriors in their meetings with the Fighting Colts: they've now lost four in a row.

The match was exciting from start to finish, as two sets needed extra rallies to gain a two-point lead. The match finished with set scores of 26-24, 25-16, 26-24.

Ruidoso's loss dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Artesia, their win bumped their record up to 11-1.

Artesia beat Ruidoso 3-1 in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bulldogs since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
