Softball Recap: Mechanicsburg Comes Up Short

Mechanicsburg blew Madison Plains out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Wednesday Madison Plains got their revenge. The Indians fell just short of the Golden Eagles by a score of 8-6. The Indians were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Golden Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Avery McDowell was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Keelyn McGhee, who went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases and two runs.

Mechanicsburg now has a losing record of 6-7. As for Madison Plains, their victory bumped their record up to 14-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mechanicsburg will venture away from home to take on Greenon at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Madison Plains, they will head out to square off against Grove City Christian at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday. The Eagles will roll in looking for their ninth straight win, something the Golden Eagles surely won't give up without a fight.
