Softball Game Preview: St. Laurence Vikings vs. Mother McAuley Mighty Macs

The St. Laurence Vikings will head out on the road to face off against the Mother McAuley Mighty Macs at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. St. Laurence will be strutting in after a win while Mother McAuley will be coming in after a loss.

St. Laurence gave up the first runs on Thursday, but they didn't let that get them down. They came out on top against Montini Catholic by a score of 13-9. The victory continues a trend for the Vikings in their matchups with the Broncos: they've now won eight in a row.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 11 runs the game before, Mother McAuley was a bit more limited in their game on Monday. They came up short against Providence Catholic, falling 10-0. The Mighty Macs haven't had much luck with the Celtics recently, as the team has come up short the last nine times they've met.

Mother McAuley's defeat dropped their record down to 8-12. As for St. Laurence, their win bumped their record up to 13-4.

St. Laurence beat Mother McAuley 3-0 when the teams last played back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Vikings since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
