Baseball Game Preview: Exeter-West Greenwich Scarlet Knights vs. Providence Country Day Knights

The Exeter-West Greenwich Scarlet Knights are taking a road trip to square off against the Providence Country Day Knights at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Exeter-West Greenwich is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.3 runs per game this season.

On Saturday, Exeter-West Greenwich came up short against Narragansett and fell 6-3. The loss continues a trend for the Scarlet Knights in their meetings with the Mariners: they've now lost five in a row.

Exeter-West Greenwich saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kole Kilduff, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Providence Country Day came out on top against Rogers on Saturday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run second inning. The Knights walked away with an 8-5 win over the Vikings. The victory was nothing new for the Knights as they're now sitting on three straight.

Providence Country Day's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-6. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.3 runs over those games. As for Exeter-West Greenwich, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-5.

Exeter-West Greenwich was able to grind out a solid win over Providence Country Day when the teams last played back in April of 2024, winning 6-1. Do the Scarlet Knights have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Knights turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
