Soccer Game Preview: Sarasota vs. Clewiston

The Sarasota Sailors will take on the Clewiston Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Sarasota's offense. They fell 2-0 to Booker on Wednesday. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Sailors came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 189th, while the Tornadoes are ranked 420th).

Meanwhile, Clewiston was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of LaBelle.

Clewiston's loss dropped their record down to 3-7-1. As for Sarasota, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-7-2.

Sarasota came out on top in a nail-biter against Clewiston in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, sneaking past 4-3. Will Sarasota repeat their success, or does Clewiston have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
