Softball Recap: Stevenson Bulldogs vs. Fort Vancouver Trappers
Stevenson proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by 17) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past the Fort Vancouver Trappers 8-6. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 21-4 on Tuesday.

Jewel Waymire spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and two unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up six Ks. Those six strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.
On the hitting side, Rebecca Townsend was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, two triples, and two stolen bases. She is on a roll when it comes to hits, as she's now got three or more in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaycee Norris, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Stevenson's victory bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Fort Vancouver, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season.
Stevenson will host Corbett at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bulldogs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Cardinals have averaged an impressive 10 runs per game this season. As for Fort Vancouver, they are taking a road trip to take on Seton Catholic at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
