Baseball Game Preview: Linn Wildcats vs. St. James Tigers

The Linn Wildcats will challenge the St. James Tigers at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Linn hasn't scored more than two runs for five games straight, a trend the squad is eager to reverse.

Linn's last matchup with New Bloomfield could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's match on Tuesday. Linn lost 6-0 to New Bloomfield.

Meanwhile, St. James came up short against Owensville on Wednesday, falling 13-5. The defeat continues a trend for the Tigers in their meetings with the Dutchmen: they've now lost three in a row.

St. James saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hunter Freeman, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI. JV Meurer was another, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

St. James' loss dropped their record down to 4-16. As for Linn, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-15.

Linn came out on top in a nail-biter against St. James when the teams last played back in March, sneaking past 7-6. Do the Wildcats have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Tigers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
