Basketball Game Preview: Ferndale Golden Eagles vs. Sehome Mariners

The Ferndale Golden Eagles will challenge the Sehome Mariners at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Sehome took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Ferndale, who comes in off a win.

Ferndale is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They claimed a resounding 87-49 win over Bellingham. The team's explosion on offense also rewarded the Golden Eagles with their most commanding win of the season.

Meanwhile, Sehome was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 54-50 heartbreaker at the hands of Lakewood. While losing is never fun, the Mariners can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 212th, while the Cougars are ranked 57th).

Ferndale's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-7. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.3 points per game. As for Sehome, their loss dropped their record down to 4-9.
