Basketball Recap: Burkeville Takes a Loss

Burkeville came up into this matchup off a tough 21-point loss last Tuesday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Leggett Pirates by a score of 51-48 on Friday. The defeat continues a trend for the Mustangs in their matchups with the Pirates: they've now lost six in a row.

Burkeville's loss dropped their record down to 7-17. As for Leggett, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 10-19.

Looking ahead, Burkeville will take on Hull-Daisetta at 7:09 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Leggett, they will face off against Brookeland at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Brookeland knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 18 matches -- so hopefully Leggett likes a good challenge.
