Baseball Recap: Crawfordsville Athenians vs. Fountain Central Mustangs

Crawfordsville had to endure a six-game losing streak dating back to last season, but that streak is no more. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Fountain Central Mustangs a 12-0 shutout on Saturday. The win was just what Crawfordsville needed coming off of a 13-3 loss in their prior contest.

Wyatt Motz was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (he also didn't allow any walks). Motz was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

In other pitching news, Kale Wemer and Bryce Dowell dominated on the mound. Wemer went 2-for-4 with a home run, six RBI, and two runs, while Dowell scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Back at the plate, Kaden Patton was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Matt Miller, who went 3-for-3 with two RBI.
