Softball Recap: Lockwood Has No Trouble Against Osceola

While Lockwood put up plenty of runs on Monday, the same can't be said for Osceola. Lockwood put the hurt on Osceola with a sharp 17-0 victory. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Indians recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Kallie Griffin made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). Those nine strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, scoring three runs while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Peyton Lasater was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. Gracyn Clawson was another key player, scoring three runs while going 3-for-3.

Lockwood now has a winning record of 2-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lockwood will host East Newton at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Osceola, they will face off against Jasper at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Jasper has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.75 runs per game on average), something Osceola will no doubt try to take advantage of.
