Soccer Game Preview: Charlotte Country Day School vs. Covenant Day

The Charlotte Country Day School Buccaneers will face off against the Covenant Day Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Charlotte Country Day School fell victim to Charlotte Latin and their airtight defense on Thursday. They came up short against the Hawks, falling 4-0. While losing is never fun, Charlotte Country Day School can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 119th, while Charlotte Latin are ranked second).

Meanwhile, Covenant Day fought the good fight in their overtime contest against Charlotte Latin on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Hawks by a score of 2-1. That makes it the first time this season Covenant Day have let down their home crowd.

Their goal came courtesy of Sam Rogers, who's now up to two this season.

Covenant Day's loss dropped their record down to 8-2-2. As for Charlotte Country Day School, they dropped their record down to 4-7 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home.
