Baseball Game Preview: Mission Vista vs. Hemet Bulldogs

Mission Vista will be taking part in a tournament against the Hemet Bulldogs at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Hemet took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Mission Vista, who comes in off a win.

Mission Vista is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They came out on top against Canyon Crest Academy by a score of 7-3 on Friday.

Luke Stankiewicz looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Quinten Mangohig and Kain Burnside did most of the damage at the plate: Mangohig scored three runs while going 2-for-4, while Burnside went 2-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI. Those two doubles gave Burnside a new career-high. Raymond Ochylski was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.

Meanwhile, Hemet was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-3 heartbreaker at the hands of Heritage. That's two games in a row now that the Bulldogs have lost by just one run.

Hemet's defeat dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Mission Vista, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-7.
