Basketball Recap: Lititz Christian Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Caeden Harmon and Jack Kriebel

If Lititz Christian was riding high fresh off their 80-54 takedown of Harrisburg Academy last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Lititz Christian Eagles took a 53-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Dayspring Christian Academy Warriors on Tuesday. The Eagles haven't had much luck with the Warriors recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.

Despite the defeat, Lititz Christian had strong showings from Jack Kriebel, who went 6 of 14 en route to 17 points and eight boards, and Caeden Harmon, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds. Kriebel's evening made it nine games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points.

Dayspring Christian Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Noah Huxta led the charge by dropping a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds. Huxta has been hot recently, having also posted two or more blocks the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Gabe Mellinger, who went 6 for 12 on his way to 14 points along with five boards and three steals.

Lititz Christian's loss dropped their record down to 7-11. As for Dayspring Christian Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season.

Lititz Christian will head out to face off against Christian School of York at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Dayspring Christian Academy, they will square off against Covenant Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in Dayspring Christian Academy's favor as the squad sits on six straight wins at home while Covenant Christian Academy has been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road.
