Basketball Game Preview: Kings Mountain Mountaineers vs. Crest Chargers

Kings Mountain is 2-8 against Crest since February of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Mountaineers will venture away from home to face off against the Chargers at 7:30 p.m. Kings Mountain has given up an average of 71.2 points per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Kings Mountain is headed into the matchup having just suffered their closest loss since December 30, 2024 on Tuesday. They fell just short of Lake Norman Charter by a score of 69-66. While the Mountaineers didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Knights 21-12 in the first quarter.

Meanwhile, Crest gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 61-40 margin over Varsity Opponent. The Chargers not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since February 7th (when they won 84-61).

Kings Mountain's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Crest, their win bumped their record up to 1-0.

Kings Mountain came up short against Crest in their previous matchup back in February, falling 72-63. Can the Mountaineers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
