Baseball Game Preview: Glenbrook Apaches vs. North DeSoto Griffins

The Glenbrook Apaches are taking a road trip to challenge the North DeSoto Griffins at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Glenbrook proved they can win big on Wednesday (they won by 20) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out Loyola College Prep 4-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Apaches have posted since May 7, 2024.

Glenbrook saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Easton Sanders, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in four of his six plate appearances. Sanders has become a key player for Glenbrook: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 4-6-1 otherwise. Dawson Day was another, getting on base in four of his six plate appearances with one RBI.

Meanwhile, North DeSoto had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Monday. They were the clear victor by a 12-1 margin over the Yellowjackets. The Griffins might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by nine runs or more this season.

North DeSoto pushed their record up to 9-3 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 14 runs. As for Glenbrook, their win bumped their record up to 6-7-1.
