Volleyball Recap: Valley Christian Falls Short Against Ranked Flagstaff

Valley Christian faced Flagstaff in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Trojans took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eagles.

Sydney Simon paced Valley Christian's offense, picking up eight kills. Simon got some help from Ansley Venkatesh and her 13 assists. Finally, Kaelin Walls kept Valley Christian's defense grounded, leading the team with three blocks.

Valley Christian's loss dropped their record down to 15-8. As for Flagstaff, their victory bumped their record up to 13-3.

Valley Christian didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 win against Notre Dame Prep on the 27th. As for Flagstaff, they will take on Bradshaw Mountain at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
