Volleyball Recap: Valeria Paneto Leads a Balanced Effort to Beat Archbishop Ryan

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Upper Dublin, Upper Merion Area was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They came out on top against the Archbishop Ryan Raiders and Ragdolls by a score of 2-0. The victory continues a trend for the Vikings in their matchups with the Raiders and Ragdolls: they've now won five in a row.

Upper Merion Area's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Valeria Paneto led the charge by getting ten digs and two assists. Paneto has been hot for a while, having posted ten or more digs the last 15 times she's played.

The win got Upper Merion Area back to even at 2-2.

Upper Merion Area wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against Freedom on the 30th. As for Archbishop Ryan, they will head out on the road to face off against Germantown Academy at 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
